About the Diwali festival:

Diwali (or Deepavali, the "festival of lights") is an ancient Indian festival celebrated in autumn (northern hemisphere) or spring (southern hemisphere) every year.Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.

Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.

On the same night that Hindus celebrate Diwali, Jains celebrate a festival of lights to mark the attainment of moksha by Mahavira, Sikhs celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas and some Buddhists also celebrate Diwali remembering Ashoka's conversion to Buddhism. Diwali is celebrated in many countries and is an official holiday in Nepal,  India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji.

Happy Deewali Poem

Here comes Diwali, a festival of light,
Brought convivial bomb with itself,
Burst with the sky-rocket of affections,
The smile on everyone’s faces binding the connection.

The Diwali festival has lots of surprises and gifts,
A genial time where plenitude of happiness is exchanged,
And in return, taken away are all sorrows and pains.

A festival to propagate brotherhood,
Bringing out every person to celebrate,
The jovial time to sociable, come out from your hood.

A festival of new start,
Time to shed away antiquated quarrel chart,
All thumbs up to a new head start.

A festival of grand festivals,
More than a festival,
It seems a grand fiesta.

A festival of wishing to your love ones,
May this Diwali might cast a goodwill shadow,
With lots of showering blessings,
Be safe and have a great fun.
