About the Holi Festival:
Holi is a spring festival in India and Nepal, also
known as the festival of colors or the festival of sharing love. Holi is a
two-day festival which falls somewhere between the
end of February and the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar. The first
day is known as Holika Dahan or Chhoti Holi and the second as Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti,
Dhulandi or Dhulivandan.
It is primarily observed in India, Nepal, and other
regions of the world with significant populations of Hindus or people of Indian
origin and Nepalese diaspora. In recent years the festival has spread to parts
of Europe and North America as a spring celebration of love, frolic, and colors.
During traditional Holi celebrations in India, colors
are exchanged in person by "tenderly applying colored powder to another
person's cheek", or by spraying and dousing others with buckets of colored
water.
Now, time to enjoy the rhyming Happy Holi poem.
A Happy Holi Poem
(A Festival Of Colors Poem)
A festival of colors has come into March month,
Brings jovial time with itself in tons,
Everybody celebrate it with lots of fun,
Imposed on dry colors on everybody, one by one.
An aroma is in the environment,
A fuddle is in the air,
Everybody is ready with their water gear,
The clarion has been horned that, nobody should be left spared.
The children are ready with their water-gun,
The adult one are ready with their color plates,
Now, don’t wait for anyone,
It’s an open invitation to all that, “Hey, come out from your den”.
Someone are applying gulaal,
Some are getting wet,
Apologies in the beginning only,
Time to revive the mood of upset.
There is color red to revive up,
The relationship which is dead,
Learn from color pink,
To throw away all the memories that stinks.
The purple color has its own grace,
Leave aside tensions and go with life’s pace,
There is a color green,
Which openly tells that, let your heart clean.
The festival of colors showers bliss,
A day full of joy,
The moments to enjoy,
Bring everyone in this convoy.
THE END
